The plan floated by the Ebony Horsewomen to build a $65 million equestrian center on at least 60 acres of Keney Park continues to cause a stir.
Last night, the topic came up again at a meeting of the council's Planning and Economic Development Committee. No action was taken as the council awaits a legal opinion from city attorneys.
Democratic Majority Leader rJo Winch, who likes the plan, said support is growing as people learn more. Councilman Matt Ritter - who expects the committee to vote on the proposal within a few weeks -- said the two-hour meeting brought out folks on both sides.
