HartfordInfo.org, a program of the Hartford Public Library, is a gateway to information and data on issues important to those who live and work in Hartford and the region.
New Developments on HartfordInfo.org:
- Site Map: A detailed site map has been added to HartfordInfo.org. The site map provides an additional way to navigate the site and find the data and information you need. To see the site map, go to www.hartfordinfo.org and click on the “Site Map” link towards the right side of the menu bar near the top of the page.
- Spanish Translation: Work continues toward translating HartfordInfo.org into Spanish. Roughly 40% of the site has been translated. The most recent portion to be translated is the Community Data section. Additional portions of the site will be translated in the coming months. To see the site in Spanish go to www.hartfordinfo.org and click on the “Espanol” link in the upper right corner.

New Data on HartfordInfo.org:
- Hartford Trends: Several more neighborhoods have been added to Hartford Trends, a multi-phase project that provides neighborhood data over time. The database now includes U.S. Census data from 1970, 1980, 1990, and 2000 for all Hartford neighborhoods. Hartford Trends may be accessed by going to www.hartfordinfo.org and clicking on the “Hartford Trends Statistical Profiles” link in the “Go Directly to Data” box in the center of the page.

- Keeping Hartford Clean: Report of the Quality of Life Policy Task Force: Describes the work of the City of Hartford Quality of Life Task Force. Includes recommendations to the Mayor and the City Council on strengthening City ordinances, public policies and procedures that will contribute to the goal of enhancing Hartford’s quality of life. Includes a link to the Mayor’s response and implementation plan. - Census of the Homeless and Supportive Housing Populations of Hartford, 2005: This point-in-time census of the homeless and supportive housing populations is an enumeration of all individuals and families staying in shelters, transitional housing, supportive housing, and on the street on a specified evening. - 2005 Kids Count Data Book: Helping Our Most Vulnerable Families Overcome Barriers to Work and Achieve Financial Success: Highlights data and policy information related to family economics; features ten key measures of child well-being used to track the well-being of children since 1990. - Mayor’s Update, Fall 2005: Mayor Perez's latest Update includes updates on education, hurricane readiness, neighborhood policing, the Hilton and Marriott Hotels, and more. - Family Assets Scorecard 2005: Ranks Connecticut against other states in its performance on 31 family asset measures such as financial security, business development, homeownership, health care, and education. Through an agreement with The Hartford Courant, HartfordInfo.org continues to offer selected Courant articles as permanent additions to the web site. A few recent additions include:
- City Sees Potential, Makes a Plan: Describes plans for revitalizing “Downtown West” with housing, entertainment and retail services.
